Default Strange Update

Today in NJ it was 96 degree and humid. I was driving at Highway speeds and the vibration was almost tolerable. The truck has a modest vibration at 73 to 77 mph, but at 80 mph it smooths out. My passenger front headrest was not shaking forward and backwards as much with the vibration. I can only presume the tires were sufficiently warmed on my trip. I notice the truck has a small amount of "play" in the driveshaft or rear when stopping, braking, and taking off. I hear some metallic noises when taking off and braking. Ford told me that the noise is common. I've owned 19 Ford trucks. I have never had such noises or vibrations from any of my other trucks. This $52k truck has me frustrated . I really want to change the driveshaft and see if that is the problem, but I don't want to void the warranty I have for another 4 years. I am in FORD Prison.

I wish to thank "joedotmac" and each contributor to the vibration thread. Took truck to the dealership (which I've done repeatedly and with no results) most recently a month ago and went for a test drive with a Service Pro (Ha!) to repeat the problem. No joy. So here I go again...tomorrow, 9 in the morning, but armed witih info thanks to all who chimed in.

An aside: As this problem has been rearing its little head since 2012, maybe longer with so many threads, and Ford has obviously chosen to side step, it appears, leaves me wondering if the company isn't exposing themselves to one big fracking class action suit. Just sayin'.
Anyway, tomorrow's the day. Oh, and have also tweeted Ford Service. Will they respond? Hmmm...
This long time Ford customer's long just may have been shortened.

Members . I appreciate the responses. I have been to busy to respond. My 2014 Ford truck was parked in front of my residence ( 4 days after my last post 8/16) and hit by a lady at 50 mph who feel asleep. The truck was totalled as she hit the driver's side rear and bent the frame . I recently purchased a new 2016 Ford f150 Supercrew 6.5 bed truck(same truck ). No vibrations and actually a totally different ride than my 2014. The truck seems stiffer and more responsive when driving at all speeds. I shall update as I "break in" the new truck. Note FYI- I have driven the truck 275 highway miles and averaged 17.7 mpg. Strange that I got this gas mileage in a truck that is not broke in yet.

Actually, to me that's not strange at all. When my truck was new I got 17MPG around town, 19MPG on the highway; now I get 17.2MPG all the time.

Dummy here...what exactly is "road forced balancing?" I also have a 2014 FX4 (which I bought new) and I have always thought that there was too much vibration inside the cab, although it has not been as severe as some others in this thread have described.

Regular balancing just spins the tire; it doesn't account for the road itself. Road force balancing applies pressure to the tire as it spins, to simulate the tire being on the road and catch things that aren't noticed or caught by a normal balancing.

The explanation can be a lot more indepth than that, but that's the basics.
