hey guys, new to this site and the f150 world. Owned chevys and powerstrokes before, first f150 i've owned. Bought a 2011 F150 with a 5.0. What i was wondering, in the past ive always just cut the exhaust right behind the cat and just ran straight pipes back with now muffler or x-pipe. I was wondering if that would sound good on this truck or is there a better option. Kinda looking for loud but also have a very nice rumble. Thanks

It will be very loud without the resonator and muffler and you'll surely get interior drone.

A few guys have deleted the muffler and kept the resonator with good results. I did it just a couple weeks ago and it was loud for sure, but drone was minimal. Sounded very deep and nice overall, but was just a bit too loud for me - sounds like what you're looking for, though.

From what I have read, straight piping the new 5.0 will rob you of low end torque.

I didn't notice any change in power, at all.

How much low end would i be losing?? I'm not really interested in spending that much money putting a complete exhaust system. But also i don't wanna sacrfice power either.

i have done this for a customer at my shop, He loves it. it's a little to much drone for me on the highway. but even after a year he still loves it. i also did one on a 6.2 raptor, he was also very happy with it.

On the truck you did, did it cackle a lot when you got on it?? That's one reason I might not do true dual....

Straight pipes are generally very dirty sounding and if your just looking for loud, then i guess it'll work. Remember whatever route you take whether it be straight pipes or a nice exhaust, it will need a tune afterwards.
