So my brakes went out....
Was driving on the highway and the "low brake fluid" warning came on. I began pulling over and the brake buzzer went off, I pushed the pedal to the floor. I was able to safely pull over and slow to a stop. I'm glad I was driving and not my wife. Checked under the hood and zero brake fluid. Checked under the truck and I didn't see any visible leaks.
Any way, towed it to the dealership and they said the master cylinder and brake booster went bad. My truck is 100% stock and has 44,000 miles. I am going ask for the Ford district rep and ask them to pay for the repair under policy. Anyone have any similar experiences? With brakes failing or dealing with the Ford rep?
Thanks

Now, as the brakes are the major safety and security system in the vehicle, you could argue that it should be covered for an extended time for that reason alone. We all know and agree that parts fail. However, unless your truck has been in a wreck, this is clearly a defect in the part and not a result of abuse, misuse, or modification.
I hope they do the right thing. Thankfully all the warning systems worked, and you did what you are supposed to do.
Good luck.

Brake investigation seems to be for the brake assist booster on the ecoboost 11-12. I had a 12 and mine broke on me

I just checked the warranty book online from Ford. The 5-60 warranty extends only to powertrain components. Under brakes, it states liners and pads replaced in the first 12 months or 18,000 for problems. Nowhere does it mention braking components other than pads and liners.

My 2014 Ecoboost did the same thing at 21,000. Rolled out of the garage to mushy brakes. Pushed the e brake and threw it into park. As soon as I stopped I got the warnings. Zero brake fliud. Blown booster and master.

Update 1
The service rep at the dealership explained to me that the master cylinder is a wear item and it's not uncommon for them to wear out at 46,000 miles. I laughed and said ok.
The exact write up was. "Brake master cylinder leaking damaged and leaking brake fluid into brake booster damaging brake booster and brake booster vacuum sensor. replaced brake master cylinder, brake booster, brake booster vacuum sensor, bled master cylinder on bench and performed brake fluid exchange and bled entire system."
He wasn't interested in helping me contact the ford district rep and just told me to call Ford customer service if I wasn't happy. Unless it's under warranty the dealership doesn't really care. They don't see it as a safety system problem.
