Default 2014 3.5 ecoboost issues?

I've got a buddy that's looking at a 2014 ecoboost. He was asking me about any potential problems. Being that I'm on the forum, he asked me to do some research, so I'm reaching out.

The one he's looking at has 20k miles and is a XLT 4x4. Leveled on 33s. Dealership is honoring the warranty.

got a 14 no issues - in fact today at my oil change I told them to give me the works to just see since we have salt all over things from the front bumper to the rear and got a clean bill of health

Browse the threads on the sub forum https://www.f150forum.com/f70/ and you will find lots to read. Some have problems, most don't. I am one of the unlucky ones that has issues with my 14 ecoboost with continued high fuel percentage in oil.

Lots to read here. I would have them pull the service history and see if its ever had the fuel in oil issue.

No issues with my 2014 w/ 16k miles. I also owed an early build 2011 Ecoboost for 3.5 years and had no issues with that truck either.

Just got mine back from the dealer, they had to install a new intercooler @ 27k miles cause the my original intercooler had an oil leak. That's been my only issue, knock on wood.

FYI...my ecoboost also has 33's and noticed a 1.5-2 MPG drop, I get about 16 mpg combined now.

Honestly I'm still stumped by it, I was looking under my truck and saw what looked like motor oil on the bottom of my intercooler. Took it to ford at 8am and they called me at 5pm saying that I needed a new intercooler, the mechanic said that the oil is from the turbo. I'm still questioning it but its covered by warranty so if it happens again I'll just send it back and let ford scratch their heads.
