Brand New 2013 with SEVERE shudder at take off
Hello All,
I am having the same issue with my crew cab, 6.5' box, Eco, 4x4, max tt truck.
It is noticeable unloaded but not severe, and scary with my 7k lb 5th wheel in tow. Noticed the issue at 1500 miles, dealer said "its normal" still only has 2k miles. This is "normal" is an unacceptable answer.
Crystal,
Please verify you received my PM?

There have been multiple threads in regard to this issue. Since this is your first post i'll try and condense things and let you know what to expect.
If under warranty Ford will try and adjust the pinion angle on your truck. This may help the shudder, but will never resolve it. Additionally, the shudder will worsen with any type of load in the truck, just my 200# cap worsens mine.
Ford will then claim it is normal, not harmful and the truck is driving as designed.
At this point the ball is in your court. You can keep the truck or sell it. If you keep it there are some aftermarket parts to help out with the shudder, but again, none resolve it.
It is of my opinion and experience at this point to retain a lawyer and seek legal action against Ford.

Thank you for your input an patients with me as a new member
What is your experience/success with a legal pursuit on this issue?
I took the wife and kids camping this weekend (for the first time in the new truck) and I don't know if I will get my wife back out again... after experiencing this takeoff shudder, she is afraid of us breaking down somewhere.
Thanks!

Mine's an Eco which should have nothing to do with the issue. It's a 2012 Lariat with the HD tow package…. and I have none of the issues described in these threads. Just wondering why all these trucks wouldn't have this problem or at least some version of it?????????

My question is why don't all F150 exhibit this problem? I have 2012 short bed and there is no shudder with or without weight. I tow a 9000 lb loaded dump trailer and no issue. Load the bed with over 1500 lbs of gravel and no issue!

The Eco has pretty much everything to do with the issue and your truck is not the same as the ones that experience the issue.
Enjoy your functioning vehicle.

why is it an eco issue? Because of the torque? I feel like I have a shudder but sometimes I feel like I'm imagining it. Guess the test will be when I hook up my travel trailer

When did this shudder or thump first start on your truck? Was it since new, or developed? Just curious, I have a 2012 f150, 7800 miles, drives and runs like a Swiss watch
