Default 2013 STX Brake Controller

Purchased a '13 STX regular cab for my DD. Liked '12 SCREW so much decided to get another 150.

Question : came with the tow package, but no brake controller. Is the wiring for the controller in the dash? I imagine that having the 7 pin connector, the wiring for the trailer brakes is all there.

Can you guys confirm?

Thanks.

I have a '14 STX with a towing package, but it didn't have the OEM controller. I purchased the controller fro Tasca Ford, it took me only 15 minutes to install it myself, the wiring harness was attached to the rear of the cubby hole inset where the controller goes. Once installed, the dealer has to activate it, costed me $75 for them to do that. Simple.

Thanks. Sounds like everything is there to setup. Controller is about $175...

the wiring is either behind the cubby or taped to the harness below the steering
depending upon the worker on that day

I just installed mine yesterday. Super easy. The plug for my 14 stx was plugged into the back of the cubby. I scheduled an appt for the dealer to enable. They quoted me 75 also. I thought that was high, but I don't have much choice now.

That's not the harness they are talking about, that for an aftermarket controller to hook up to stock wiring.

I found my harness taped up under the dash by steering column.

Location has been more than covered, but.... I can't recall if it was on the controller or the harness but there was a plug that I had to remove before the two pieces would go together, took 5 minutes to figure out WTF was going on....
