Default Trick for straight CV's??

ok so I have been thinking about lifting it more but noticed that with the 3 inch level on my truck the CV's are at a pretty bad angle how the heck is everyone running around with 6+ inchs of lift and straighter CV's then mine? What's the trickery behind this black magic?

lift kits drop the front diff to keep them straight. 4 inch and above will do this.

I thought that is what it may be but didn't think it was a normal thing.

like lets say this pro comp kit somewhere in there there is a diff drop, I work under the hood I don't do suspension work and I have always owned cars so the world of trucks is new to me

those new crossmembers you see in the kit are what drop down the diff. then all your suspension geometry is back where it should be.

So I could add an aftermarket crossmemeber and fix my poor angles as is if I stick with what I have now?

not sure never tried that. but i think for the money you would spend doing that a nice 4 inch lift would look great.

Ya you need the whole kit. You can't just buy crossmembers. Then your spindle won't reach your UCAs.

No. The kit also has taller steering knuckles that connects the upper and lower control arms. Typically the steering knuckles are also quite a bit beefier.

I just came from a 3" level that the previous owner had installed. It LOOKED good, but the performance was HORRIBLE. Every time I hit a speed bump or especially offroad, there was absolutely NO travel available and the UCA would bounce off the coils. Very annoying and all the suspension angles were severe. I replaced this with a Rancho 4" kit with the RS9000XL adjustable shocks and couldn't be happier so far. Rancho has a $400 rebate going on too, so that's what helped push me to buy.

That sounds like the way to go. Previous owner did the same thing three inch level but a 4 would be great and to have good angles would be awesome as well
