Default 2013 FX4 vibration problem

I have just purchased a new 2013 FX4 supercrew with the 20" dark grey wheels. From the first day the truck vibrates. The dealer service manager has checked the rims, "road force balanced" them 3 times, replaced 3 tires, even checked the rotors for being warped. They have no idea what is causing it, but they feel it to! It is at a variety of speeds, 20-35, around 40-50, and at 75-80 mph. They even replaced the slip yolk on the driveshaft Friday. Does anyone have any ideas? Please help.

Probably something with the driveline. If it's brand new and you've been back multiple times make them take that **** back. How many miles were on it, when you noticed it. Make them switch trucks with you. If it had this issue right off the lot after buying it, I would have returned it ASAP.

Most state lemon laws, require the motor company to replace or buyback the vehicle if it's in the shop for longer that 30 days or has to be returned 3 times for the same issue.

Please keep us informed with what you do. And if you find a fix. I've had mine in seven times for this same issue. Watch what your dealer does with your visits. My dealer held my trouble tickets open with the "test drive it and will see if that fixed the issue". The trouble with this is that my seven trips now looks like two according to Ford corporate.

Get in touch with me via PM, cowen226 and AK49Jeff; I want to get your respective regional customer service managers on this so they can help. In your PM, be sure to include your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and preferred servicing dealership. I'll get this moved up the line.

You know, when I think about it, mine did have a vibration at first...then I put my Bilsteins on and I dont recall feeling it since then...

The stock shocks have very little dampening and therefore might be allowing it to escalate.

Anyone else with Bilsteins (or other aftermarket shocks for that matter) notice it go away?

What kind of vibration are you feeling? something that moves that whole truck or something that literlally just vibrates?

Default Update

I told the service manager to put another set of wheels & tires (not the same kind) on the truck to eliminate possibilities. He put a set 18" rims and tires from another truck on mine and tested it. It drove smooth with no vibrations, so we are back to the rims & tires. The Pirelli tires are requiring a lot of weights, so the rims were checked again and it seems each rim has a slight wiggle or low spot to them. It seems to be a manufacturing issue, not damage. They are trying to get Ford to send 4 new rims. We will see what happens next. Today is 4 weeks that I have owned the truck and only had it in my possession about 12 of those days.

Hopefully the new rims will correct the problem, and you can enjoy your truck. Good luck.

Different rims solved my problem...

I've had the same problem for a 18 months and 32k miles. Started with the factory 20's, then I've had two different sets of Fuel wheels and three different sets of tires, balanced by 3 different shops to zero.

For sure there's a driveline issue with mine, but I've given up chasing it. My truck is just a vibrating POS at 70+ that I'll have to live with for another 18 months. Then it'll be someone else's problem.
