How is it not being considerate? Might as well just get an Ecoboost then if you want to keep it quiet. :P

Even with an aggressive exhaust or muffler, it will only rip when you step on it. So don't do that if you're trying for the considerate neighbor of the year award. These aren't as obnoxious as people make them out to be. Trust me. (Towing might be a different story)

Mine is loud and I really don't care what my neighbors think. The ones I like, think it sounds awesome.

Really, what kind of neighbors does one have where they think like this? I don't get it.

Might as well not lift your truck either because you're worried about being a visual obstruction to others.

I just did what many others have done, left the resonator in place and deleted the muffler with a straight pipe. Sounds great and cheapest option.

A friend of mine has a shop here in town. I bought a Borla XR-1 15" Oval Muffler (#40085) from Jegs. I left the stock resonator in place and adapted the muffler then a Y-pipe after the muffler into dual exit at each corner of bumper with 4" tips. Love the deep sound. Really sounds good when you open the engine up. If the truck is just idling it's very quiet IMO. I'd like to go louder. Thinking of taking the resonator out, but haven't decided on it 100%. Chris's FX4 has a build thread on here that I found very helpful. He also has videos with this muffler and single exit stock location. here is the link. https://www.f150forum.com/f78/chriss...thread-273076/

Black Widow Race Venom will do the job. I am a 3" single setup currently. I have long tubes and gutted cats so mine is significantly louder than it would be with factory manifolds and cats. Similar to the super 10 with the exception there is no baffle splitting the flow. More of an hour glass shape so it's straight through.

Well gents, I went with the 40's flowmaster...I am partial to the deep throaty sound..i had one on my 2001 dodge ram 5.9 and my 94 suburban with the 5.7...I will say I am going to straight pipe through the resonator to get my desired sound.Putting it on this weekend..can't wait.
