Default 2013 fx4 5.0L Muffler

Alright, looking to add a muffler to my truck. I am looking for a good rumble and the droning while driving doesn't bother me. I've heard of a resonator delete not sure what exactly to do with it or what it is used for. I honestly like starting my truck up and waking the neighbors up...any suggestions other than straight pipe which can't happen on newer models..

I ordered a flowmaster original 40 series muffler off amazon, 3" in 3"out and absolutely love it. It can be a little drony when you thromp on it but for the must part its got a decent rumble. And I dont like waking the neighbors as much just because I get up for work at 5 but I do worry about it some days, so to answer that part of the question, yes I imagine it will wake neighbors up. I kept the resonator on and just kept running the 3" pipe from the res to the muffler and all the way to a 4" tip, im not sure what a 2.5 would sound like in comparison. But I love it and would suggest it to anyone! worse case if you dont like it, return it and get the super 10.

After a long time of going back and forth, I just ordered a Flowmaster 50 Delta Flow. It was right in the middle of a stock sized muffler (Series 70) and an aggressive sound with the Series 40. Flowmaster's website says the Series 50 is mild to moderate sound and the Delta Flow adds a deeper tone and less drone. There are plenty of videos on Youtube of 5.0 F-150's with the 50 Delta Flow and for that matter, 40, 44, 10, and 70's for that matter.

true dual super 10. I wake every morning at 6 and I have to coast to the main road so I don't wake anyone up.

Why do you let neighbors dictate how you mod your truck? You act like there are no motorcycles or diesel rust buckets in your county.

There's no reason you can't run a straight pipe, that I know of.
But if you want a lot of noise, get a Roush setup. Oh yeah, you'll get drone too. And a hearing aid later on.

It's just consideration for others. No reason to be an ******* to everyone around you.

Just my 2 cents and how I operate but opinions are like *******s...

Back on topic, If/when I get the itch for an exhaust I'm leaning towards Borla. My biggest concern is noise when towing, I'm about 15 years past enjoying drone.

For pure noise a low numbered flowmaster will get you where you want.

If you want loud, I'd go with a Flowmaster 10, as suggested above, or with a short Magnapack or Dynomax Race Bullet.

They will likely drone like crazy, but it sounds like you don't care.

https://www.f150forum.com/f38/new-borla-muffler-226512/

i prefer borla or any other open flow vs a chambered style like flow master.
