my '13 wheels look like your 2nd picture you posted. They won't do anything about it where im at either. I'd look at getting them re-powdercoated as they get worse. Cheaper than buying another set of wheels with the same ****ty OEM finish.

I'm not surprised at all they didn't cover it. You are out of warranty. Did you think it would look new forever

Mine are peeling, same wheels. It started out of nowhere and look bad. I'll probably powder coat them at some point.

You can have a wheel refinisher fix them prob $150-200 each. Ive had that done before for a scrape but wouldn't refinish the wheels again in case this happens again.

You could have them blasted and powder coated but you need a second set of wheels while they are out. Ive been quoted between $700-1100. Cheaper is basic, more expensive was for a three stage special color.

Or buy a new set of wheels. Maybe keep an eye out on Craigslist.

crj36, that is just your clear coat. You can get the stripped and refinished without having to redo all the paint. I wish it was just that for mine.

Thanks for your advice!

Guess you never heard of a recall before. Ford is voluntarily replacing wheels for the Fusion because of potential for clear coat peeling and reducing wheel life.

Hello Ford Fam,

If your vehicles are still experiencing these symptoms, please take your rides to a Ford Dealer to get diagnosed, if you haven’t already. You can find a dealer, here. Once your appointment is set, be sure to let me know how your dealer visit went. If further help is needed, I’ll be happy to see how I can best assist at that time!

the fx4 rims i bought were doing the same. although I did get them powder coated I did notice what you were talking about. The ones I bought had HUGE chips because the guy had plastic-dip on them and then removed it.
