Default 2013 F150 XLT aftermarket stereo

I have the 2013 XLT package with the small screen, no Nav.
Somehow maybe due to heat, the screen cracked when I was in Ft. Stockton last week. When I got home Saturday, I ran it by the dealer, and they have told me:
1) it will likely NOT be covered under warranty
2) It is VERY expensive.
3) Cannot upgrade to the system with Nav, unless I go aftermarket, and its VERY expensive.
I have searched and found info on aftermarket systems, but most are for the 2011, or for the premium system with Nav from the factory.

Anybody else run into screens cracking for no reason, or found any upgrades for the XLT package without Nav from the factory?

I am no longer dealing with the dealer that sold me the vehicle, after some BS dealings with both the sales department, and their service department. The closest was Tomball, and they were the ones that said the screen was not a warranty item, and would have to have FORD approval first.(read, gotta go in Thurs, and have them take pics and pull codes, send to FORD, and wait....and wait....) Another Houston Dealer said basically the same thing....

Have you looked at Crutchfield? They may have something.

Sorry to hear about that issue. We have tons of aftermarket car audio. If you have any questions you can always call our experts. They are very helpful, and can at least get you pointed in the right direction. 1-877-289-7664

Unfortunately there are very few options for those that have the 4.2" screen (myself included) so some of us have decided to modify our systems with tablets.

I'm in the process of gathering up everything required to do such a conversion and it starts with finding the bezel to utilize. Found this one on ebay thanks to the forum member Hotcat here and did the project that inspired me in the first link below.

Here's a couple links to put you in the know should you decide to traverse the option.

Just thought I would share that we do sell these brand new bluetooth amps by RE Audio. Not sure if this really helps, but it's pretty cool since it allows you to control your system with your tablet.
