The service department ordered the complete latch kit (or possibly called latch assembly) because they did not know exactly what was causing the problem on the first visit. I told them that I had heard that the problem was caused by a faulty locking solinoid - the service rep more or less brushed off that suggestion. The problem was getting progressively worse while I waited for the repair parts to arrive at the dealership. Three or possibly four pulls of the door handle were required to be able to enter the vehicle on the day of the repair, while it was a consistent two pulls when the parts were ordered a couple of days earlier.
