Discounts are running $9k to $11k off sticker.

$38k for a 2013 with 37k miles seems high.
You hear all these stories, and they seem hard to believe, but this time of year is IDEAL for buying.

On 7/30/14 I bought a new 2014 SCREW XLT for $32,300 out the door. I told them what color I wanted, and that it had to be 4x4, 5.5 bed and 5.0, trailer-towing package (hitch, electric brakes, cooler) with front buckets and console (no jumpseat) or I wasn't buying. They located the truck 300 miles away, and had it on their lot the next evening. It also has the leather interior, reverse assist (w/back-up cam), factory spray-in liner and electric rear slider w/defrost. Window sticker on my truck was like $43,000. Keep in mind, I would NEVER pay that much. That's why I didn't already have one.

That's much better than buying a 1-3 year old truck with 30k on the clock, for $30-$34,000. I had to finance through Ford to get the rebates and discounts, but I went to my bank two weeks later, and got a check to pay off the Ford loan. I've heard other guys had to leave the loan with Ford awhile, but I specifically told them I wanted no penalty for early payoff, and they were ok with that.
