The 2013 is different in many ways than just being a year newer. Why Ford decided to change things is beyond me but they did.
They recommend what they use, they wouldn't recommend full synthetic if they didn't put it in from the start.
Every Ford vehicle I've owned in the past 20 years has always recommended the syn blend in the manual.
So now for the 5.0 2013 engine it's full synthetic. Technology advances.

They also suggest a motorcraft filter but that is not what comes on the truck...
Those are recommendations not a list of what came in it. If it was then why do they list both? did it come with both? no they came with the synthetic blend just like every ford vehicle.
