The 2013 is different in many ways than just being a year newer. Why Ford decided to change things is beyond me but they did.
They recommend what they use, they wouldn't recommend full synthetic if they didn't put it in from the start.
Every Ford vehicle I've owned in the past 20 years has always recommended the syn blend in the manual.
So now for the 5.0 2013 engine it's full synthetic. Technology advances.

The 5.0 does not come with full-synthetic from the factory, it comes with 5w20 semi-synthetic. You can use either one. This is according to one of the factory reps at my dealership.

Well, I found a solution to the poor access to the oil fill opening on the valve cover. I came across this thread...

Ended up buying an inlet pipe that snaps (or twists) onto the valve cover for $14.65 plus tax from the local Ford stealer. Yeah, I could have found one from the junk yard or ordered it online for a little less, but after shipping, it would have come out to the same price anyway. That, and I do not want to keep a long ***** funnel in the truck either.
Now to find the dipstick with the proper handle length.....
