Default 2013 EcoBoost Almost Got me Killed!!!

Driving on the freeway tonight in pouring down rain. 41 degrees F. Went to pass someone - and NOTHING! Near complete loss of power. Un F'n believable!!! Barley made it safely from high speed lane to right berm.....I am PO'd!!!!

CELdid come on - blinking. Power off of engine & restart"appears" ok - but I'm afraid to give it gas or pass anyone now!

To the dealer we go tomorrow...

*ugh - typo - yes, I know it's an ECO Boost....(sigh)

Wow 2013's to huh. Look at all the 2011 guys like myself and 2012 guys that are having this happen. I cannot believe it is now happening on the 2013's also. By the way it sounds like the condensation in the intercooler issue we have been having, just google ecoboost condensation and see what you get. The conditions you listed are perfect weather conditions for this.

Yeah, I've read about the 11's & 12's - which is why I'm so ticked. How can they legally be allowed to sell a vehicle knowing it has this type of problem 3 years running now? I intend to raise a stink with Ford tomorrow.

They all know the problem exists. Just will be time till they fix. Think about the 6.0. Took a few years for them to fix the problems. I'm sure a major tsb or recall will happen mid next year.

But 3 years? How the hell does it take 3 years to fix it. Ford's engineers can design such a high tech engine but they can't even fix it. Maybe ford isn't even looking into this issue.

You can give it gas after it stalls. The stall fixes the problem, at least for about 20 minutes. Its crazy this problem is in its 3rd model year.

I took the chance ordering a '13 EcoBoost. Figured the reward would be worth it if it doesn't have the issues. There are many more EcoBoosts without issues, than there are with issues. So hopefully I'll be safe. If not... If I have issues like this one, I'll probably be trading it in on a Platinum with either the 5.0 or 6.2. I'm not going to screw around with an unsafe truck, especially when I have my wife and 1-1/2 year old daughter in it.

Hope they get this crap figured out soon!

If you are driving in the rain, hit the accelerator hard every 15 minutes or so. Sucks you have to do it, but it will prevent the stall issue.
