Ya it goes in tomorrow to have a look. Seems the aggressive testing the mechanic and myself did the other day also messed up the seal. You can see the oil stain in the video. They should be fixing that tomorrow as well. I will certainly post back tomorrow evening with any update.

There are a ton of threads of here with people asking about a oil stain on the diff. Majority of people say it's normal seepage. But, never know I guess. I don't have a stain and mines been clunking for a while.

My truck is now doing this. Did not do it the first winter i had the truck (2012 screw fx2 that i bought new) but it has been doing it all this winter. It can pound hard enough at times that the locker is useless. Too much wheel hop for traction.
Hopefully there is some fix for this. I am going back in soon for my dealer to take a second look. Keep people posted if i get anywhere with them.

And is this noise being produced in 2 wheel drive only? Are you sure you're not just experiencing wheel hop?

This thread is about a condition INSIDE the differential causing a clunking noise when the E-Locker is engaged and spinning the REAR tires on a really slipper surface.. It is a similar noise to wheel hop, but it's not the same.

Sorry, just don't want to confuse this thread.

Here is the normal speed. Hopefully this link works better?

OK, so it looks like the noise is def inside the differential

Yeah, I only get the noise when my elocker is turned on. As mentioned in an earlier post it's very hard to get wheel hop on ice, but this unlocking/slip of the locker certainly is not. Nice to see the underside video as that wasn't what I though was happening. My guess was the right wheel was spinning faster than the left and the locker tried to do its job every time things lined up on their way around, but failed.

To the OP, I know it felt the same in the truck but was traction control/ advance trac on or off in those videos? Maybe the traction control was hitting the brakes and causing the back and forth wheel spin.

Just a word of warning to the OP. This issue might not be repairable. I'm thinking If I was to do this all over, I wouldn't of had the mechanic take the whole diff apart. He didn't find anything, and now I have a diff that's been "messed" with instead of being brand new. Just something to think about

So, the mechanic was right, we should only see the drivers side spin / catch, spin / catch.

Hmm... I have no idea
Say what now?
