Not trying to be smart, just a suggestion. Pay attention to when, and how hard you apply your brakes when you come to red light, etc. We know these trucks are heavy, and continuous hard breaking will wear the pads prematurely. Could help.

I haven't owned mine long enough to say but I find fast wearing rotors kind of surprising. Pads I can understand. To me, high rotor wear would seem to indicate an excessive amount of force either from habitual hard braking or a seized caliper. Or possibly the abrasion characteristics of your particular pad?

That's crazy.. I had 24s on my truck for 30k miles and theyre still good

Never experienced something like this with the rotors actually being a wear component. The only wear I've experienced on multiple trucks and cars was very shallow groves cut into the rotor surface from the pads. Having the rotors turned with just a few thousandths taken off usually is enough to provide a nice smooth pad service.

On my previous 2500 HD I never serviced the brakes once. Same rotors same pads from the factory 126k miles over twelve years. I've had Powerslot rotors on two cars, G8 GT, and Camaro, never had any rotor wear as indicated. The Camaro was a track car.

At 8500 miles replaced the front rotors on the F150 because of a brake induced shimmy while braking between 30 and 15 mph. 5k miles on the new rotors and pads, no notable wear to the rotors what so ever.

Replaced with a Powerstop slotted/drilled rotor and pad kit. No shimmy, and improved braking performance. Dusting is about equal to OEM.

The OEM rotors I pulled off had the worse uneven color distribution across a rotor I had ever seen.

To the OP, it's highly unusual that a rotor wears at the rate yours is. Are you certain the pad material is intended to be used with the rotors you have? I'm thinking there might be some kind of miss match in materials. To be clear your using EBC rotors and pads? Which EBC pad? Have you contacted EBC?

When you replaced the rotors and pads did you grease the slider pins and pad clips with synthetic brake grease? Did you brush and clean up the caliper surfaces from any rust or corrosion buildup to insure smooth actuation of the brake caliper?

I wouldn't consider myself aggressive breaking since I notice I start slowing down before most people but with 7 miles of red lights and idiots each way to work i guess they would see more break time.

I've got a 2013 Eco that I just put in the shop on Monday for a weird vibration in the front end when stopping. It only has 13k on it. The dealer told me my front rotors were warped and that it was not covered under the warranty! They want to charge me $120 to turn the rotors on my brand new truck, I am pretty pissed off. I do tow with the truck daily but that is what it was advertised to do and that is what I bought it for. The braking systems on these vehicles that are claimed to be able to tow 10k are obviously inadequate for the job.

I purchased a set of drilled and slotted rotors with ceramic pads for the front end of my truck from here http://www.ebay.com/usr/brake_overst...p2047675.l2559 for about $150 shipped, only $30 more then Ford was gonna charge me to turn my factory rotors. I will do the install myself.

Op, what kind of rotors? Ebc as well? Did you bed the pads per the procedure?

Depends on when you bought your truck. Ford only warranties brakes for 12 months, or 18k miles.

The front brakes on my 2011 started to go after 30,000 kms. Vibrating really bad when stopping at any speed above 40km. I put very few kms on this vehicle so the warranty was up. Rotors were pitted really bad so I replaced them, and also put on ceramic pads. Sure hope this new set lasts a lot longer.

FWIW - I'm not hard on the pedal and I don't tow very often.
