Default 2013 aftermarket radio?

Has anyone added a aftermarket double din radio to the 2013 new stack setup?

From what I can tell it's not going to be possible. You're going to have to splice into the OEM wiring and tap there to go to amps for speakers/subs. That's what I am planning if/when I get my '13.

AudioControl makes some great products for doing just this.

Thank you I already have a aftermarket sub hooked up. Just was wondering if anybody has a mount kit yet for the new center stack.

There is a kit out. My buddy is a installer at Car Toys. I'll see if I can find out where to get it.

How did you wire amp and sub on your 2013? Having issue getting consistent advice from install shops on how to to get signal from HU (before or after factory amp).

2013 truck have 3 different stereo configurations. The base model is the same as 2011-12 trucks and those kits are available. Then there is the My Ford, which is a 4.2" screen and the Ford My Touch setup. As of 25 Mar, there were no dash kits for those systems.

I would expect them out at any time.

Agree with Maxpower220. The base model can be done just like a 11/12. I really wonder if there will ever be kits for the MF/MFT systems. I have not pulled one apart yet, but can you separate the a/c controls from the 1 big piece in the stack?

I would love to be able to rip it out in a 13 (assuming PAC or someone like that makes stuff to keep SYNC) and replace it with a good aftermarket HU. But for now, I'm just planning on tapping the OEM stereo for upgrades when I get my new one.

I have My Ford 4.2" LCD setup, will a simple PAC work for RCA input/ouput to run amps for components/subs?

Disclaimer: I don't have a 2013, so not speaking from vehicle specific experience.

In general however, yes. Anything that will capture its input from line level (speaker wire) and outputs to RCAs to go to amps should work.

Personally, I'll be going with the DQL-8 because I want crossover functionality as well: http://www.audiocontrol.com/t34/5247...rocessing.html

They do have some cheaper less complex options available as well: http://www.audiocontrol.com/t34/1761...tegration.html

Personally, I am a huge fan of AudioControl. They make some solid products - while not always the cheapest - you do get what you pay for.

Hope that helps...

(If I decide to get my '13, I'll keep everyone here updated on what I do with the radio - OEM stuff doesn't cut it for me.)
