Default 2012 XLT Supercab rear suspension question

Sorry if this is a stupid question, I have a 2012 F150 XLT 4x4. Supercab. Standard tow package.

My leaf springs have this large spring mounted on top of them that functions like a return spring, I can't seem to find any pictures online of anything similar so I'm starting to think this isn't standard. Any info would be appreciated thanks.

I'm sure this is common, but I've not seen them before.

And if you don't want it you can take it off and ship it to me.
