Default 2012 U.S. Final Truck Sales

Thought I would share this.

Looks like GM is making a move. Still Ford is much better.

Lol..GM couldn't make 2 trucks outsell 1 truck. Good job ford! 645,000, that's a strong number! We haven't seen those sales numbers in half a decade.

Only 1,900 Escalade EXT's, ford could sell that amount of F-series in a day!

Ford did out sell the Escalade in one day. Since they don't sell on Sunday there are 312 days - 7 holidays and you have 305 selling days or about 2,115 per day.

That's a lot of trucks!

GM always outsells Ford in 1/2 tons. It's just the way it's always been. More Fords ultimately go to work and sell a ton to fleets. That's where they make it, up 3/4tons and higher. Funny thing is that this year GM only sold around 30k more 1/2 tons where as they usually sell around 80k more. So, either MANY people are holding out for the upgraded 1/2 ton or they lost a ton of market share. GM needs to worry if it's the latter of the two.

Not always. ford outsold GM and Chev a few years in a row..it's just sad that 2 different truck lines barely outsells one truck line. As far as I'm concerned its the pricing that keeps people interested. Plus GM has pretty attractive lease and fleet deals. Is their truck itself attractive? Hell naw, but company fleets don't care. They want the best price for the cheapest truck. With the prices I've seen it's really hard to believe that GM makes any money off a truck.

...in other words, GM only outsells in the 1/2 ton market by proxy of offering two (essentially identical) trucks (which is, in part, why GM will slap two to four different names on the same body whenever possible). Ford has had the single bestselling 1/2 ton for years.
