Labrash, I wouldn't get to worked up about it yet. 3" lift is a lot of lift man, that's gonna affect the aerodynamics of the truck for sure. All that plastic **** hanging from the bottom of our trucks is designed to tweak out ultimate aerodynamics. Once we lift em up, we bugger that all up. Combine that with more rolling resistance from the more aggressive tread compared to our ultra-slick Pirelli's, a few more pounds of rolling weight make a major difference (maybe someone can enlighten us, but I know that dropping x lbs of rolling weight is like dropping xxx lbs of cargo or vehicle weight).

Anyway, when you factor more rolling resistance, more rolling weight, crappier aerodynamics, and the fact that the engine isn't even anywhere close to being broken in, that can explain your crappy fuel economy. I'm sure by 20,000km you'll be in better shape, just gonna have to ride it out until then.

Out of the Lot this truck got 23L/per/100Lwhich is 10 MPG.....guys are saying they are getting wayyyyyyyyyy more Mileage then Me!

with the tire change and K&N Kit Im getting 19-20L/per/100L

So Third, Im not complaining, Im trying to figure out why such a difference, not what its costing me.....If I was worried about GAS I wouldn't of bought the truck, plus I have a Diesel and V6 Car.

So YOU! don't have a F'in clue what your talking about!

have a nice day
You have introduced a lot of variables into the equation with lifts, modified air intake, and different wheels and tires. It's no mystery why your mileage sucks. If it really bothers you, put it back to stock, one mod at a time, and see what is hurting your mileage the most.

Also don't get so worked up. You'll get more help here with honey than with vinegar. I know you've only been a member here a couple months, but understand that we get posts just like yours all the time-- my mileage sucks after XYZ mod.

LaBrash,
Sounds like you are getting pretty good mileage to me. Mine is a stock 2011 Super Crew with the 5.0 and 3.55 gears. It is eleven months old this week, and has 2,067 miles on it. My lifetime MPG is only 10.8. Mostly driven short runs in the city.

I am a little disappointed in some of the replies here. This is a pretty good forum from what I have seen. I have been considering going to the same tires LaBrash has. So I did some research and most guys with the bigger tires and a moderate lift are saying they lost 1-2 mpg. But everyone is jumping on this guy because he is trying to figure out what is different with his truck. "You did stuff to your truck, you should expect to have ruined it, stop complaining."

Come on, this guy is getting on average 30% less mileage than other people. You can damn well bet with mileage like that he isn't mashing the gas everywhere he goes. I drive 7 kilometers to work every day, with about 10 stoplights along the way. I usually hit half of them. The truck idles for a minute in the driveway etc. I average 16L/100km on my 5.4L, 2009 FX4. And I don't baby it either, I like my v8. Don't tell me areodynamics play a part on a vehicle shaped like a box, especially in town. So how about we be helpful, does anyone out there have similar mods as LaBrash that can give mileage numbers? Maybe LaBrash can detail some of his driving habits, (highway, city), what he has done to remedy the issue. Like recalibrating the cpu?

The point is, at least one new MPG thread pops up daily. Plenty of other F150ers have the same mods... Use the search button or google it and they'll find plenty other MPG threads

The biggest problem is not having the speedo recalibrated. Transmission is not shifting at the right points and the speedo is way off. That a lone should bring back at least 1 mpg, maybe 2.

Stocker THANKS !! Finally someone gets it!!

Im not trying to compare a stock truck to my Mods Ive done On my truck!, Ive seen other threads where the mods guys have made and get way better mileage then me, so Im trying get other trucks 2012 5.0L mileage not comparing apples and cherries.....

I do have to say I'am sorry for getting Pissed and spouting off at the One guy So I'am sorry about that!!... it just caught me at a bad Day I Normally am not like that.

My Habits are not much! I live in a area that is like a small town BUT Im right next to a Massive city. I normally drive in the town area stop signs and lights mixed 30KM to 60KM, Im off work on disablilty from a car accident and was rear-ened 5 yrs ago. I don't venture very far so Stocker is right Im not mashing on my truck. and the other point is Ive gotten better mileage since i put the K&N Kit & the better Tires on....19.0 to 20.1 today/tonite......but Like stocker said its way off the mark at about 30% to what everyone else Ive read says they get.....

If you don't like my Thread then stay out simple as that!..not here we go again, or I get a kick out of these guys that put mods on basicly calling what Im saying down, and telling me Id get dozen's and dozen's of tanks of gas for what I spent .well i proved that wrong!!.....then the next breathe I would get better responce with Honey, and yet that sure the heck wasn't honey he was throwing at me! SO I stood up for myself...and well Stocker did too......

only thing I can say its the calibration......because the read out is all over the map.....anyway Im not here to argue or be cut down, I'll figure it out.

Have a great Day EH!...lol

Thanks.
The 3" leveling kit went on at around 600KM and the tires at about 750KM and K&N kit was about 1100KM I have 1528KM as of tonite and got 19.0per/100km when I went out and on the way home it was back up to 23-24/100KM

I'll get the calibration done and see where Im at, I filled up at 1,512Km so in a week or 2 I'll see where Im at the old school way..lol...

It hasn't towed anything yet, the only thing this winter it will tow is small trailer with quads or Utilty trailer for garbage......but as of yet nothing....

Thanks!
