Plasti-dipping badges/emblems
I have seen many people on here using plasti-dip on their badges/emblems. I wanted to know if you are removing them and spraying them or just taping them off and spraying them while on the truck?
I want to plasti-dip my front and rear oval ford emblems and them cover them with some red/black overlays (likely from Moody Blue). I have the rear tailgate camera so I would have to deal with that. I also want to do the same to my driver/passenger door ecoboost emblems.
Remove and spray or tape off and spray?
Thanks

So easy to do on there. Leave them on. Just put a little tape over the camera and use a razor blade to trim around it so only the lens is covered. Spray away. I did four coats on mine, waiting the half hour between coats. The rear had enough space that I could get the painters tape behind the emblem. On the front, I popped the hood open and just loosened the two main nuts for the emblem, to loosen it up enough to get the tape behind it. It was real easy.
Here's the rear after complete. Ready for the Moody inlay to go on.
Here's the front after it was done. I'm going to put the inlay on the rear, but I like the way the front came out, so I am going to leave it just like this.
