Default 2012 King Ranch With a 6.2?

I have a friend who's step father is....well lets just say he's very comfortable with his financial situation. Anyway I had my truck over at my friends place the other day helping him move some furniture, his step father was there and started asking me about F-150's. He's never owned a truck before funny enough.
Long story short he was saying he looked into the F-150's a couple months ago but couldn't settle on one because he really likes the King Ranch trim but he didn't like the EB cause it was so quiet and he wants a V8 and he doesn't think the 5.0 was the right fit. This sparked a fun conversation since I have a 5.0 and love it. He said that if he could get a King Ranch with a 6.2 it would be perfect, he doesn't want a Platinum, Lariat or Harley (I suggested that to him) the man is picky and said he would pay to have something like that built from the factory if the option was there. I told him to get the 5.0 and crank up the power with all the after market support thats out there but he didn't budge on what he wanted.

I don't even know if its possible to special order a 6.2 King Ranch right from the factory. Probably would end up being pretty expensive. Anyone else ever heard of somthing like this being done? Probably would make for one unique truck.

Would be pretty cool and they should let you option it the way you want. He should just go for a limited or supercharged 5.0L.

I know that you can't get one normally, I just think it would be cool if there was some way to special order one.

Anything can be done for a price. Order the 5.0 in the KR and a 6.2 oem crate motor from Ford. Have the dealer R&R motors and sell the 5.0. If your friend has so much money he can pay the dealer and they'll do it.

If you order them in sufficient quantities, yeah, they'll build one just about anyway you want.

Why Ford doesn't offer it to begin with is beyond me. Since we're just talking about a trim package, there's no added build complexity at the factory for putting a 6.2L under the hood compared to any of the other engine choices. What you're up against are marketing geniuses who can't fathom that someone may just want to order a vehicle with that engine. I HIGHLY doubt it is an engineering issue.

If they offered the 6.2L in the FX4, mine would be on order.

The 6.2 gets the hydraulic steering rack. The other engines get the electric steering rack. More involved than an engine swap.

He could go for a F250 Lariat - 6.2 is standard on that.

King Ranch is an option as well for it.
