Wait until you pay for 2 turbo chargers, cooler and the rest it wont be so cheap. I am sure when one turbo goes the parts from that will suck into turbo #2. I drove semi truck and their is not a perfect turbo out there. I dont think screaming these motors with turbos to fill piston area at high rpm to get horsepower due to low compresion for emmison standards is answer.

What kind of mileage do you get pulling the camper with the Eco.? I do not get good mileage at all on the highway with my ecoboost.
I pull a 3000lb open trailer with 2 ATV's on it, and I only get 11mpg on the highway. I am getting 17 to 18 on the highway with no trailer and 14 in the city.

With my previous 2010 5.4L Screw 4WD, I got 10 mpg pulling my large 29' Jay Flight travel trailer and got 15 mpg in city and 19 mpg highway (70 mph). Mixed I got between 16.5 and 17.0 mpg depending on route.
Check your air filter. I drove a lot in the country and I changed my air filter every 15,000 miles because it was dirty even if the serviceman thought it was fine. I could always tell it was dirty, but only when towing. Towing mileage would drop 2 mpg.

Wow, that's pretty bad mileage all the way around.

See? It works in monkeys!
That's a fantastic animation. I ordered my XLT HD in November and am patiently waiting. I got fogs with the 301A mid package.
I'll be hauling 1500-2200lbs of Dozer cutting edges so it's good to see what she'll look like!

Hi everybody, been lurking here for a while now, reasearching the truck I now own. Thanks for all the great info! Had an 08 GMC ext cab 5.3. Wanted a crew cab and something that could potentially tow a moderately sized 5th in the future. Came down to a 6 liter 2500HD or the Eco HD and I think I made the right choice for occasional towing. Have a 7500lb TT right now and what a big difference towing compared to the GMC. That topic could easily fill a separate post.
On to the topic... since we may upgrade to a 5th, I wanted to know what sort of pin weight the truck would handle without looking goofy and not require bags or springs. After an afternoon of gathering 2500lbs of weight and extensive use of the "man step", here are the results. Would have been much easier if I had to haul a load of bag mix concrete or shingles but was stuck with scrap steel, batteries, tool boxes and lots of water.
I'm sure the SD and HD guys might get a chuckle but I hope this will help those interested in the HD payload option.
