2012 ecoboost spark plugs
#11
From Livernois “The plugs that came factory in your truck were platinum with too large of a gap. Ford has since changed to the newer SP534 which is an iridium finewire plug, colder heat range, and gapped tighter from factory. We then gap them even tighter down to .030"”.
I had a similar problem; I thought it was bad fuel or the tune (because I just installed new plugs). I tried different things for 20,000 miles and it turned out to be a bad spark plug (center hole driver side). It was just a couple shades darker than the rest, I would also have a high rpm miss and the truck would role coal (a little) going into 3rd gear at WOT. This is the 3rd set of plugs in 45,000 miles but it runs 100% now.
Ford should put a BOV in the bottom of the inercooler to get rid of the water problem. I do not have a moisture problem on my truck (2011) but I drive it so hard I don’t think it has time to settle.

Not every issue is related to condensation in the CAC. And there are plenty of Ecoboost owners without a condensation issue.

I just ordered SP534 plugs today from amazon. I have the same slight shudder when going up hills under light to medium throttle.
I will let you know what I experience as I track down the problem. It is so minor it doesn't bother me but will do what I can to track it down.
People are drilling holes in the intercooler??? that seems like a bad idea

Anywhere in the bottom that looks to be a point of natural drainage. I think a lot of the guys are doing it on the corner near the driver's side front tire.
Use a 1/16" drill bit. Doesn't need to be huge.

2011 F150 3.5 Ecoboost with 90+k miles. Had the shudder since 60k. I live in Wyoming so not a lot of humidity. Found about an ounce of oil in my CAC coming from left turbo. Had the turbo replaced. Drilled the hole in the CAC. Still misfires. My issue is misfire on cylinder 1 at higher speeds. I keep finding a strange mark on my #1 spark plug. I've changed it three times and it only takes one hard acceleration to fail. I swapped coil packs and the problem still stays on #1 cylinder.
