Default 2012 Ecoboost heated seat not working

Good morning all,

I've searched all the posts on this forum and others looking for help and found some info but not exactly my situation.

My (new to me) 2012 Ecoboost FX4 has the dreaded rear defrost issue so I took the truck back to the private dealership that I bought it from since it has only been a few weeks from purchase date. They looked in to it and said it's gonna' have to be replaced. Fine, I get the truck back and I am waiting for a quote from them.

However now neither front heated seat is working. They were both working days prior. Now the light on the dash comes on and the fan blower starts but cuts out in a second or two. When I try the cooled seat the button lights up and the fan blower starts and seems to run fine. This leads me to believe that it is not the seat filters.

I've checked the fuses and they are good. The truck has 70K KM so it is not covered by warranty.

Thoughts anyone?

I think your last line is your answer, if it's still under warranty bring it in

The blower will start and stop as needed on the model with heated and ventilated seats, since you say both are not working, I'd double check if it's not user error (no offense) turn them both on to full power and wait a few minutes for the Peltier device to come up to temp. See if the fan comes on, check both sides carefully as the fan is really low speed on the heated setting when compared to the cool
