2011 XLT, aftermarket seat heater wired into rear defroster
I've got a 2011 XLT with factory rear defroster, and factory remote start.
If it is below a certain temperature, the rear defroster automatically comes on when I remote start the truck.
I've got a set of neoprene seat covers on the way, and I'd like to put an aftermarket seat heater (something like this: http://goo.gl/qfBcS) on the seat before I put the neoprene on.
Here's the tricky part. I want to wire a relay into the rear defrost wire so that if I remote start the truck and the rear defroster automatically comes on, the seat heaters will trigger as well. Additionally, I also have another relay connected to a manual switch so I can turn the heaters on without power backfeeding into the circuit for the rear defrost.
Has anyone done this before? I'm not a wiring guru, but it works in my head, just wondering if anyone who has done something similar has any advice.
Also, I'm not sure the best way to get the dash apart so I can access the rear window defrost switch, anyone know of a tutorial?
