I would like some info on this too. My truck almost feels like it is misfiring when climbing hills in 6th gear at low rpms. 4x4 Supercrew with 5'6" bed, Ecoboost, & 7200 lb gvwr. No CEL activation at all, so I am pretty sure it isn't a misfire.

I have the same issue as medic75, low rpms in 6th gear feels like a misfire. 4x4 Screw with 5'6" bed, but I have the 5.0 so I agree that it isn't a misfire.

That is what mine feels like now that both of you stated this....

I will get as much detail including the TSB#. Truck goes in this week so let's see how it goes. Just for grins, what is the production date of your trucks? Mine is 12/15/2010 so this may be an issue with earlier 2011's?

Mine was built 4/15/2011 and has this problem.

It's unnerving to see so many threads about transmission issues in our trucks...

I feel like the build dates for these issues are inconsistent. There have been reported issues with these transmissions all over this forum, and the build dates are all over the map. Mine was built on 4/15/11 (like the previous poster) and I don't have any transmission issues...no leak-shudder-nothing...yet... Though I've only just recently broke 1k miles.

I sure hope that Ford addresses all these issues with the transmission. I had planned to keep this truck till it dies...maybe I'll have to spoof up a trade-in strategy before the warranty runs out!

If these issues don't get resolved, then our resale values are going to plummet....

(sorry for the negative rant)

The more I think about it, I begin to wonder if it may be a misfire or timing issue. When I first start my truck and let it idle for about 30 seconds, there are obvious misfires during that period, however, that seems to go away once I drive any distance. I wonder if the computer has any codes stored and it just isn't bad enough to cause the CEL to kick on.

My '97 F150 confused the heck out of a few different mechanics that way. Obvious misfire with misfire code stored, but no CEL activation. I also experienced a misfire in my '06 F150 once (during a WOT high speed passing situation) with a loud backfire, but no CEL activation.

My truck is smooth with the idle and no misfires heard during warmup. When I am on the road in 6th gear I start to feel it from 1300-1500 rpms and it is shuddering and very annoying. The tranny tech said a TSB came out with the exact symptoms I described. So may be yours is different? Maybe an injector issue? Either way, I will post back once everything is done.
