Default 2011 Shuddering & New TSB

For those of you having shuddering issues when driving your trucks there is a new TSB out that addresses this issue. I don't have the TSB number but it was posted by Ford 2 days ago. The TSB outlines solenoid issues on our trucks, Mustangs and another vehicle (can't remember which it was).

My truck goes in next week for the replacement solenoids as I understand more than one is affected and our trucks have 7 of them. The Tech stated that my "Service AdvanceTrac" may be caused by the same issue.

Hope this helps someone with the same issue....

I'm very interested to learn more on this one.

Finally! I'll be asking my dealer to check it next time I'm in.
Thanks!

Thanks, any more information would be great. A detailed description of the symptoms too would be great!

This is the best way I can describe it:

When the engine and tranny are cold it is worse but even when it is warm it is still there but not as severe but still very prominent and it feels like a Torque Converter shutter. The truck when it happens feels like it is surging almost like you are towing a very heavy load.

As soon as the work is completed I will look at the service ticket and see if they posted a TSB #...

My suggestion? Go to the Motorcraft Service site, pay $20 for a 30 day subscription, and download the actual TSB. They have every TSB relating to your particular vehicle, as well as access (and download capability) of the entire factory service manual.

Well worth the $20 if you are having the problem.

It was invaluable when trying to get my transmission pump leak issue (TSB 11-08-04) resolved. I was able to point out to the dealer several details on the TSB and in the service manual repair procedure that the dealer wasn't fully up to speed on. In all fairness, Ford issues plenty of TSB's on lots of different models, and I'm sure the service guys don't spend their evenings studying them, which is why owners should make sure they know everything about TSB's that affect their issues.

May be a good idea for some, but I feel I gave Ford more then enough cash when I bought the truck and don't feel I should spend more to tell them what's wrong with it.

My dealer has always been straight up with me and the Tranny Tech was very informative. I can probably get the TSB number from him when I drop off the truck, he was also describing in more detail as to why I was having the issue and it apparently stems from low oil pressure to the clutch plates due to defective solenoids. Maybe a Ford Tech on this forum can shed more light and details so I and others can save the $20.

If you do get the TSB number, would you please post it here?
