Lol no doubt weather here is terrible above zero now. Have 25 degree temp changes in one day... Crazy. Far as the after market with a good installer should have no problems how ever as far as I know there isn't a aftermarket starter than has the ability to control the heated/cooled seates, mirror defrost, front and rear defrost etc. as far as I know most of these are controlled through canbus or other data communication which makes them very difficult to tie into without a interface to do this. Which is what makes the factory one so appealing. It does it all and it's plug and play.

All you guys concerned about the vehicle's engine stopping when opening the doors or putting the key into the ignition is something that can be easily fixed by accessing the brain and going to 'Bank 2, Option 7' and change the programming characteristics.

That's how it worked on my '10, at least.

Don't have that problem, however since I added the 2 way I did notice a difference in the "quiet start" option. With it off my radio turns on when started ( didn't before I added) and with it on its off. Before I added the 2 way quiet start did almost nothing from what I could tell. Radio was off either way. Now it's only off with quiet start on.

I don't mean to be the guy who brings back these old threads, but I just wanted to say thanks for the info!

I picked up the remote start kit from the dealer for $180 and they cut the two new keys for free.

I've programmed them to the truck now, that was easy! I'm about to go try to install the kit ... good luck to me!

Ok, sorry, but I already have a question. Does this install behind the glovebox? Or behind the dash panel for the pass-side airbag?

Dang, found where they used to be. Apparently the photobucket image is gone.

Thanks to everyone who has posted info on installing the remote starter. I have everything I need to install the 200 series except the activation instructions for the dealer. I found the instructions caprj has posted but I can't figure out how to get the pdf from photobucket so I can print them.
