Got the remote start activated yesterday at a smaller ford dealer in the area. Nice people, they knew what the IDS was and what to do to get it activated. Asked me if I wanted any settings changed, i didn't. So all was good. $64.20 was the charge. Also got my plates yesterday and made them take off the stupid dealer sticker, told them to pay me an adv. fee or remove it. Also got the factory writing off the wheels. Looked like a grease pen was used to write numbers on passenger side.

Hi everyone!
Im new to this so cut me some slack lol....
i have a 2010 f150 xlt i would like to install this "plug and play" remote starter kit but i was told
It is not possible due to the fact the 2010 uses a 40 bit ket and that system uses an 80bit key so will only work for 2011 and up. Can anyone confirm or deny this??
Thanks in advance!

Anyone have any issues with the long range key fob? I had it programmed to turn truck on with 2 clicks of the button. But there are times where I have to click it 4 times, some days 3 and others just the programmed 2. Should I try and do the reprograming again or could it be the battery inside?

Probably battery. How far away are you? Line of sight or building blocking? Its nowhere close to its advertised range and building blocking degrade signal fast. Factory starters have always and likely will always suck with less features and worse range than aftermarket. Do yourself a favor and always go aftermarket and you'll never regret it. I like compustar first and astro start second but viper is good as well from what I hear. Haven't had a viper since 2002ish, lol!

1. Any professionally installed quality starter will outlast the vehicle, avoid the cheap ones, top end model is well worth it.
2. Aftermarket is plug and play now as well.

3. If you're worried about splicing wires you're a dumbass, every wire in your truck is spliced or connected already and when a professional installer solders and heat shrinks them they are actually better than factory connections, lol! True story.

So I purchased an auto start online CL3Z-19G364-A, I installed it myself, doubled checked everything was correct. I took my truck to dealer, they were going to charge me $85.00 to flash it. I waited for about 30 minutes and they called me over to the service area, and told me I was missing a wire. They were saying I was missing the push pin wire for the module, I took the module out and they said a wire should be connected where the orange pins are in the module. Does anyone know if wire is supposed to be connected in the orange area of the module.

only wires i had were the wire to connect the antenna to the square box, from square box to tps module then from that to the thing that gets zip tied.

Default Multiple dealers quoted me around 120-150

So dealers are quoting me just to have my truck flashed to recognize the remote start 120-150 dollars that sounds ridiculous. So everywhere I have read they say it has to be flashed is that true or do they hook up their little computer and turn the remote start option on.
