2011 Hard 1-2 Shift
2011 XLT Screw 6.5 bed 5.0 l. 10k miles
Having the occasional hard 1-2 shift under light acceleration. Only happens when rolling in heavy stop/go traffic or through a stop. Going to check with dealer next week when in for service. TC or driveshaft? Anyone else?
Thanks

I believe I read that the harsh 1-2 upshift is a safety feature of the transmission designed to prevent internal damage when accelerating from a zero torque situation.
Mine does it too if by harsh you mean you feel it noticeably firmer than the normal shifts
If its hard enough that your afraid the tires are chirping, you may want it checked out

It's fine under normal acceleration. Just happens when rolling in heavy traffic and then giving some gas lightly. Not "firmer", a loud "clunk". Also have a 2008 4.6 4 speed, never happens

My 11 screw eco boost does the same thing...I'm talking hard shifts like a shift kit has been installed...doesn't seem normal to me..guess a dealer visit is in store.

It may actually be normal but id check with the dealer
These transmissions feel a lot more like a standard than an automatic to me - seems that they dont slip their TC nearly as much as previous generations
