Default 2011 Gotts mod?

I just went out to do the Gotts mod on my 5.0. I unplugged the MAF sensor, took the top of the air cleaner box off, and pulled the filter out. My truck does not have any type of insert or restrictive tube in it. I can put my fist al the way through the large tube into the fender well. Did Ford change this for '11 or am I missing something?

New motors for the 2011's means new intakes for them. There's no modifications yet for the box on the new intakes. Find a way to make it better, and post up a writeup. Ford has really come a long way from the snorkel days of old.

I was playing around with my intake today. I can fit my hand all the way thru the "snorkel" that goes into the fender. Its not very restrictive.

I was thinking though...i think it would be easy to fab up tube that would run to the front just to the left of the license plate that would hook up to the "snorkel." Not sure how much better it would be but it would force air even better directly into the airbox.

Im gonna mess around more this weekend and see what i can do. if it ends up working good, i call dibs on the name "Jones Mod"

They also went ahead and used electric fans... No more e-fan mod needed, at least for the '11's.

The 2010s still had crank driven fans? Wow. I thought crank fans were way out of here.
