Default Confused about adding a rearview camera setup

Hey Guys, I have been reading and reading on the subject of installing rearview camera to my truck. Anyway, I decided to call the dealership where I purchased the truck. I asked the service manager if and how it could be done. I also asked him if gave him my VIN, if he could tell me if the harnassing was there so I wouldn't have to run all new cabling. He said he would have to see the truck and check the wiring?????

He also told me the radio would have to be removed and reprogrammed. I told him I didn't have a navigation system, so no screen in to dash, so I didn't think that would have to be done???? I can't see how this would have to happen....but I dunno?????

Anyways, all I want is to install a new mirror and camera. Do I need to do anything else. Does anything need to be reprogrammed or will the truck just 'pick it up'?

Any info will be greatly appreciated..........

If you had the nav they would have to activate the nav camera feature.

There are several factors.
