Default 2011 FX4 speedometer malfunction

my speedometer is stuck at around 40 at idle and goes up to 120 when going 60. It seems double over 20 mph. I found a way to access a service menu and get a digital readout of mph which works correctly. What could be causing this

Btw. I just purchased the truck used. It has superchips stickers on it. Could some type of tuning program cause this?

Speedo correction is a function of the Superchips unit. Sounds like a scaling factor is off in the program someplace. If you got it from a dealer take it back and have them fix it. It couldn't pass an inspection with that issue. If you got it from a private party... you're on your own.

Would the digital speedometer be off too if it was a program? When the truck is off the needle is at 40 mph

Contact super chips they might be able to help and see if there the problem or not then start from there. All I know is if you go to the dealer most of them won't touch it knowing its been tuned tho.

The dealer I bought it from is gonna fix it. I just dropped it off. It's a Honda dealership though. They are using some kind of 3rd party mechanic. We'll see what happens.

Just an update, the mechanic had to replace the whole instrument cluster. Its all installed and they are bringing it to Ford in the AM to get it calibrated. Been without the truck a week.

Ford still has the truck. There is some type of drain on the battery now. They're saying a faulty sensor. Going on about 10 days now. I don't even barely remember what the truck looks like. Only had it for 2 days before it went into the shop.
