Default HELP!!!!!!!!!exhaust drone

Ok so recently I installed JBA headers with a catless Y pipe and a Boss 302 intake.....ok knew it was gonna be loud with my 4x9 14 inch magnaflow.....ok so purchased a 30 inch multi chambered magnaflow thinking it would help with the loudness and exhaust drone not even close and made it sound like crap.....so then purchase 2 vibrant 12 inch bullet style resonators with a dual in single our 5x11 28 inch magnaflow straight threw.....and oh my this thing sounds so mean and so damn good....but that damn cab drone is still there not as bad but still there......so what now do I need bigger resonators...or dynamat the inside or what.....oh buy the way I'm true duals all the way to the muffler and I singled it out being that the muffler is by directional.............I have this exhaust looking good to being all welded and stuff..........call me dumb, stupid idiot or whatever but please help with the can drone......Thank you

What you need to do is install a J-pipe or helmholtz resonator! No drone resonator from synapse engineering. You could completely remove your resonators and just go with the J-pipe. The guys over on the Raptor Forum have been using them for several years now.

Have heard that the sound is not changed and only the drone is completely cancelled out. With the 6.2l motor a J-pipe at 24-26 inches did the job!!

Long tubes, more often than not, are a big contributor to the drone people get. We would recommend switching to a catted Y pipe or adding a cat back in the system somewhere upstream. You are already using the largest muffler size we offer, which leads us to believe the problem isn't being caused there. In addition to creating cleaner emissions, catalytic converters act as a resonator and can help reduce drone on the highway. If you have any other questions, please feel free to give us a call at 1-800-990-0905!
