Thumbs up 2011 F150: Wet Okole Seat Covers

I've read many good things about Wet Okole seat covers, and decided to order them back in January for the front bucket seats of my 2011 F150. They finally arrived yesterday and I just finished installing them.

It took about 15-20 minutes per-seat to get the seat cushion, seat back, and seat headrest installed. Overall it was very simple, but I had to go to their website to get the installation instructions (they weren't included, but it's so simple to figure out). They also include a cover for the center console -- I installed it, but I don't really need it, so I may eventually remove it.

The covers will provide some extra padding/comfort, and more importantly, it looks like they'll do a great job protecting the cloth seats. At least that is my hope. Also, I have 2 dogs that ride in the 2nd row of the SCREW, but dog hair gets everywhere, so the covers should prevent dog hair from getting embedded into the OEM cloth seats.

I ordered directly from Wet Okole instead of from a retailer since you can specify certain features. For example, I also included in my order:
  • Zippered pockets for the rear of the seat covers (a picture below has my binoculars in one of the zippered pockets). I got the pockets on both the driver and passenger side since the seat covers will make inaccessible the Ford pockets.
  • A "gun tote" for the driver and/or passenger side. I only got the driver side, and it is 2 separate pockets. In the picture I have my 9mm Springfield XDM, but I was also able to fit my .45 in the other pocket next to it. The pockets fit full sized pistols without a problem. Or you can use them for other things.
Since the 2011 F150 (and some other model years) have air bags in the side of the seats, the Wet Okole covers take this into account. They also test their seat covers to make sure the airbags properly deploy (there is info about this on their website).

Since I have the 'steel grey' cloth interior, I ordered the "grey" (#21) inside-color for the seat covers; I did not get the "seat piping" and the outer color is black. They seem to go well with the interior, mostly matching the grey that is on the speaker covers, I think.

Also ordered their shampoo and odor eliminator for maintenance.

Total cost was $300 delivered ($280 + $20 shipping).

Attached are some pictures -- hope the forum software doesn't compress (distort) the pics too much.

And here is the final view (although I had not yet installed the center console cover).

Also, I decided to wait on ordering seat covers for the rear seat of the SCREW. Instead I ordered 2 of these from Orvis and think they are awesome and very well made - they fit the entire width of the F150, unlike other seat covers that are not wide enough:

Attached is a picture of what the 2nd row looks like in my SCREW for my dogs, and it is easy to get things out of the way for PEOPLE.

I go through 2 or 3 of the 'cheap' autozone seat covers every year on my 99 Expy (driver's side leather is torn, which is one reason I didn't want leather on the F150).

I'll need time to see how the Wet Okole perform in comparison to cheaper set covers - hopefully much better - they say to keep the Wet Okole's clean (using their cleaner) and that they'll last a long long time. We'll see...

Like other reviews say, they fit like a glove, provide some extra padding, and are waterproof. I think this will really help preserve the Ford OEM cloth seats.

I don't know if there is a problem if you already have seat heaters - you'd have to contact Wet Okole to ask them. They do offer a "carbon fiber seat heater" option if you special order it (I didn't).

They also have an option for "lumbar support".

Finally, below is another picture of their "gun tote" option. I really like it...

I'm all for it but wouldn't that gun tote constitute a concealed weapon which can get you arrested in some states?
