Ok so I am going to attempt this modification. We have a 2014 STX and would like the back up camera. I was in a you pull it yard the other day and happen upon a 2010 crew cab the tailgate, bed and much of the truck had been pilfered however I managed to get the RVD/Compass and headliner harness out of it for a song. I ordered a factory camera and bezel from ebay. Now I am thinking about the wiring. I know the pin out between my RVD and camera will need to be adjusted, I crawled under the truck and did not see a connector near the spair tire that will connect to the camera so I am thinking at this moment that I will need to build or buy a harness I figure it will be Video wires X2 a positive, a Negitive, the trigger wire but that is only 5 pins so what is the 6th on the camera? any way as so many before me have done I will attempt and see if I can do it.

I disassembled the headliner harness today and labeled what a gathered from this site I decided I wanted to test it so I put 12V to the power and grounded the mirror, it turned a shade of blue and I thought I burned it up for sure. Once I applied the reverse trigger wire to the 12v there was a delay that felt like years and then as if angels where singing from the heavens a blue screen. So that was my win for the day the loss was that I went back to the yard and procured the body harness even though whoever took the tailgate cut the harness I figured it would be a cheap source for wires that should mach my color and connectors but I was wrong and got cliped for 60$ for something that was shoot. I figure it is my comeupins for some wrong in the past so no big deal. I am stoked about this project so far. no more arguing with the wife when she wants to back the truck up to our trailer. Now I am still curious as to the wiring diagram for the compass if any one has info on that I will be all set.

Update it is in and working however it did not go off without a hitch 1 is the molex MX150 connector funny thing is go to a parts store and no one knows what you are talking about. But the Harley Davidson dealer had one on the shelf. 2The camera housing has been updated and a 2014 emblem will not work on the old(grey center base) so get the emblem you need for your base. I still could use the Pin out for the connector on the driver side back wall of the cab by the rear window. As I would like to get my compass working, the reverse trigger wire was easy enough to find but the Compass pins are harder to identify and the wire color for the 2014 appear to be different from the 2011 wiring diagram on here. I also omitted the"grey wire" or the BCM bus wire it seams most people do I but I would like to add it if anyone has info on it I figure its a power on-off for guidelines. any help would be appreciated.
