I think I'm just going to have to end up pulling the dash back out, and tapping the wires behind the stereo.
Was looking at the lockpic website, does your lockpic have the yellow RCA video input connector?

Well, all finished, buttoned up, and trim back in...

Ended up running a 24 ga shielded twisted pair from the rear to the headliner, and 'stole' power from the 7-pin trailer connector... Last step was changing the mirror itself, which I was a little worried over, to be honest. A couple minutes with YouTube, and customizing a cheap screwdriver into a mirror removal tool, and the job was done.

Thanks to all - esp pickupman2007 - camera works awesome, and was worth the effort!

I have not pulled the dash back out to check, but I have talked with the lockpick people and they say that I should. If I could figure out how to go from a video+ and video- wire to an RCA input, I could possibly put an end to this! I have yet been able to do that.

Hook the video + wire to the center conductor and the video - to the braided wire wrap that is around the center insulator price. That's how the RCA cables work. I've also seen several people here that said that us how they hooked up to an aftermarket display with an RCA connection. Hope that helps. Good luck.

I'm certainly going to try that this weekend I think! Thanks for the help regardless! I'll post back if it works.

Default Back Up Camera

2011 F150 XLT

I was wondering if the video screen in the dash has another connection that may be used for a back up camera?
I could purchase a camera on ebay and connect it to the second video input if there is one.

Thanks for any info given....

Gary

By in the dash are you referring the info/settings screen up with the gauges. If so I don't think there is but I'm not positive. If you mean factory NAV screen, it should be possible with a Sync Lockpic device.

Yes the info/settings screen, I don't have the nav system, I was just wondering if it was possible.

Not sure if there is a way to do that, but it's a cool idea.

Everyone says 2011 is different than other years for the wiring but they don't list what the wiring is for 2011!

I have a bunch of wires with a 16 pin harness plugged into my current mirror. Trying to figure out if any of these are for camera so I know what I need to order.

Anyone have the wire colors and locations for 2011?

I'm assuming it is probably wired in my headliner harness but want to be sure I have the right wires there and work my way to the back of truck.
I have a new 2012 F150 XLT with a rear view mirror that contains a multi-pin wiring harness and would like to think they are the same mirrors, have you found out it it contains an LCD display (hopefully meaning the entire wiring harness is already installed)
