Sales guy didn't know about it either, I told him to leave the auto auction and get his azz back to the dealership to look it up for me. Just kidding, hes a good guy and said he would call me back tomorrow. Sometimes I feel bad with this technology and how word travels, we know stuff before they do. I don't think they like it much but oh well. I use my truck a lot for work so probably can't get it in til next week or the week after.
Thanks to those of you going in right away for the fix, hopefully it brings good things. Keep us posted!

Does anyone know of a way I can get the details on the TSB, for free or even a pay site.
I called my dealer and he ran my VIN and said that there is nothing new that would cover my truck. 2012 Super Crew FX4 3.5 Eco, made on 11/11/11.

Thats all that I told my dealer. This was just posted this morning around 10:00am, maybe it takes a little while for this to get sent to all the dealerships. I would call him back and give them the specific TSB #, if they are unable to find it, have their tech. call the tech. hotline.

I tried searching around and couldn't locate it, maybe one of the guys getting it done could get a copy and post it. Ford does have a service website I believe that you can pay money to have access to?

Email I received this morning
"I see that Ford has issued a Technical Service Bulletin just this morning for your truck.
TSB 12-02-10 includes a software update that will address the following conditions:
Intermittent engine surge during moderate to light loads at cruise.
Enhancements to misfire monitor detection.
Powertrain control module (PCM) DTC P0430 and/or P0096."

Fix applied to F150 Ecoboost today
OK, this has been a long battle and I feel they fixed part of it.
They flashed the PCM, test drove it and handed me the keys. 1.5 hours.
First impressions; The boost waste gate issue seems to be gone. No more intermittent hissing in concert with shuddering and "dropping cylinder" feel.
After 4 months of feeling the shudder, I am too sensitive to every little vibration and need to hand my wife the keys for a drive.
I still feel the shuddering although without the strange sounds coming from under the hood, they don't seem that bad.
Interested in hearing feedback from the other Ecoboost owners.
There may be more than one issue and as they pick away at them, they should be able to more effectively isolate them.
I broadened the petition to include all 2011/2012 F-150's.
I'm afraid legal action may slow the progress down and can only hope that this forum and a streamlined, professional petition will keep Ford's interest in making our trucks right.

I was on another forum and the issues with the ecoboost was brought up and lead me to this forum. I have read through 47 pages here since 10:30 this morning and registering as a member at 11:37 am today.
I went down to my local Ford dealer and put down a deposit for a 2012 F150 4X4 XL long bed with the 3.5-V6 ecoboost, 6 speed auto, back on Dec 13, 2011. The sales rep stated 6-8 weeks deliver time. I figured Feb 8, 2012 Delivery is now within 1-2 weeks.
If this was built in the middle of Jan 2012 to the beginning of Feb. 2012, would it be assembled with 2011 manufactured parts, and is there anyway to verify this?
Since this New 2012 truck is on the way, what is the chances that this update:

has been loaded, or do I have to go through the hoops that everyone else has on this forum about the misfires and shudders between 55-60 MPH?
I am not taking a loan out for this truck and plan on paying cash, yes big nut… I would much rather lose the deposit then lose the $40.000. had earned cash.
Thanks for all the reading.

I just got home from having the latest update. I think mine might be fixed. It is 30 miles to home from the dealer. For starters, I reset the Instant mpg when I left the lot. The first 5 miles were on a fairly flat interstate. At 65 mph I got 23.1 mpg. Then I hit a 2 lane highway and set the cruise at 58. There are 4 hills during the 25 miles drive that it always shudders. The first one is pretty steep. I heard the flapping noise twice on that hill but did not feel the usual jerking. The rest of the ride was smooth. When I turned off the highway, my impg was at 22.3. Yesterday, I had filled up before I left the town where I work and I got 18.2 on the commute home. So, a huge jump in mpg on the same trip - same gas. Then when I drove up our gravel township road, I go up 500 feet in elevation. No cruise but try to maintain a steady 30 mph. There is one steep section where it always shudders like crazy. Nothing this time. When I got home the impg was 21.9. That is the truck I remember from the last summer. I will keep you posted if anything changes. Interested in seeing if this is a fix for you other guys.
