Can't believe such a great engine can't be driven in the rain

2011 misfire/shuddering/no a/c
dropped my truck at dealer for this problem. I have 62000 miles on my 2011 they called me saying i need a new coil pack, new spark plugs, a computer reprogram and a deflector put on my intercooler. All this for 641 bucks. i talked to the service guy told him why do i have to pay for Fords screw up. This is bs i'm thinking about trading this thing in.....

Plugs and coil pack sounds like maintenance, and the truck is about 4 years old! That's only about $160 per year of use, not to bad!
Like they say you got to pay to play, right?

You would think after 4 years Ford would have resolved it by now.
Do you think they carried over the problem to the 2015's and now the 2016's??
I would certainly like to consider the EB, but it seems a design issue, and the fix must be a tough one? One would think with the EB, now their premier engine, they would have it running perfectly and reliably by now?

Their fix doesn't work
I got my 2012 EB fixed (or so I thought) a couple years ago. Yesterday I was driving in the rain with the cruise control set for over an hour, when I punched it just to see what it would do, it started coughing and almost died. It seemed to recover itself a little quicker than it did prior to their "fix", but makes no difference, it shouldn't have had to to start with. They don't have a clue how to fix it, and it's a piece of junk until they do. I've got 126k on mine now. I'm going to trade next spring and it won't be for another EB.

2013 F150 Ecoboost with 17,400 miles. Rained constant up here in New England yesterday. Did roughly 75 miles of interstate driving and was attempting to merge into highway traffic. Punched it hard.....truck fell on its face...lost power. Felt like it took 30 seconds to be able to accelerate. Scary stuff. Engine light is on....I ran the the codes:CEL P0305 & P0306...misfire on cylinders 5 and 6. Called dealership, cant get the truck in until next Thursday. They told me to drive it if its acting okay....which it seems to be.
I just want the issue documented with Ford incase the motor blows up down the road. The truck and motor have been flawless for the past 2 years.

As a MAZDASPEED 6 owner, and now a ecoboost owner its unfortunate. These are picky engines. Much of what I didn't like of the previous is present in my Eco. The humidity issues, inconsistent power etc. too many variables to keep correct to ensure the power delivery, too complex and it shows. On a good day with good gas, it runs like a raped ape, in the rain, or poor gas it falls flat or stutters. I am afraid to go full throttle.

Have the stuttering under hard acceleration problem with mine as well. I heard people are putting a weep hole into the intercooler to let out the moisture. Without checking all 300 pages what seems to be the consensus?
