Same thing here, it has to have a check engine light on for them to get a P code for them to submit to warranty. I suggest finding the sweet spot for the miss usually in 5th gear and push the accelerator down just enough the start flooding that cylinder with fuel but not down enough for it to downshift (putting it under load) this will get it to miss more and hopefully the check engine light will come on that's what I did... then take it directly to the dealer and don't shut it off till they pull the code. Hope this helps

I just had this issue appear. Took the truck into the dealership to have everything checked out as the warranty expires in 500 miles. Got it back and the first time I had the opportunity to floor it it started to stumble. Never happened before in the 35k I have put on it. Recorded the guages as I got on the freeway and it stumbled again and went into limp mode. Drove truck back to dealership and they performed whatever was needed under the TSB and changed a coil(?) as well. Picking it back up tonight.
I read that moisture causes it but I live in PNW. It has been hot. Not sure why it would now rear its ugly head.

With the recents post. I was wondering if the trucks your discussing about are they the eco-or the 5.0?? I think it will clarify which engines are more prone to this problem. Kinda seeing a mixed bag here. i know i still have to get a second opinion from another dealer since i cant get them to check more in depth instead of a scan tool. Im about to pull plugs and see for myself.

I would check with one of the Ford dealers that does have the correct fix and can guarantee the elimination of the problems.
The spark plugs are critical as well, and MSD has a new forced induction specific plug line that looks very promising. But correct the PCV system design flaw and all the shudder, misfire, water/oil/fuel accumulation in the CAC, and oil dilution as well. This is from Rhineland Ford in Manitoba, Canada....or there are others around the US that can also correct this properly for you all:

2011 Screw FX4 Max Tow
So Ford walked away from mine. No callback from Ford reps, no idea what caused the high speed miss after charging me $70 for the recall, shield and several updates. I put new plugs in myself ($40 from NAPA) just drove 1000 mile round trip ( with rain!) no issues. Lesson learned, screw the extended warranties, by a programmer and use " old school" knowledge on how to fix a miss in a motor. Thus after my truck has been to the dealer 5, yes 5 times for the miss. Over educated engineers need time on the shop floor to fix these things, not a friggin computer.
