Well with some more miles on the truck...I can still get it to miss. It won't do it just driving up a hill...I have to press the plus button on cruise so it adds boost and it will happen. Before the new IC it would do it either way, but now I have to make it. Not as bad or noticeable...but still there. Have not noticed it at WOT like I did before.

I'm gonna contact dealer tomorrow so they are aware...but put more miles on to be sure and see if it gets worse before bringing it back.

The smoothness and power is great still though, way better than before the new IC.

One thing to note is I have not done anything to plug gap. I want the dealer to perform this so it is all in the paperwork. I don't like telling people how to do their jobs, but this will be my recommendation to them.

Man I hate that it didn't just fix it for you. At least it's still useable though. I hope they get it resolved

It doesn't go into full limp mode any more though right ? That issue is what they were trying to fix with the new intercooler. I agree that telling them to check the plug gap should take care of that slight miss at high load conditions sounds like yours is almost completely fixed that's good news

I probably won't know that for sure for a while...only happened on mine twice almost a year ago...during the "thaw" when there is typically fog every night as the snow melts. I know the new IC is mainly seen as the fix for condensation, but I believe in the wording of the TSB it mentions "surging and other driveability concerns" so while I did have the complete loss of power, I was also hoping it would fix this.

I guess regapping is the next step. If that doesn't work wires? Coils? If those don't work then I don't even know. Gonna stay optimistic and hope its just regapping though. Just starting to get in a tight spot as there is about 400 miles left of bumper to bumper and just don't want to get into a "fine print war" at the dealer as to what is still covered under powertrain.

To be honest the miss as it currently exists isn't a huge discomfort...I'm more concerned about how its affecting the rest of the engine/truck, especially after 1.5 years.

Mines going back in next Wednesday. The dealer insists THEY want to fix it...should just try gapping myself and see what happens.

It couldn't hurt, but I put in some new NGK Iridiums @.03 and no change.

Just thought I'd report that after the new IC and shroud, I haven't experienced the brutal redline misfire followed by limp mode. Happened to me three times driving from BC to Alberta. They also reflashed with the newest update which is supposed to fix the surging in 6th. It seems to have almost fixed this, I still feel a slight surge once in awhile but no where near as bad. If I didn't know it was an issue before hand I probably wouldn't notice.

I'd like to add that I went into Ford with a bad idle missfire and loss of power. They told me the IC was on the way, I told them listen, this isn't IC related.. there's something else going on. They insisted. A 5000km later (still waiting for IC to come in) I had enough and said listen, there's another problem going on here I'm not some soccer mom stop giving me the run around. So they take it in and we're running tests on it and find cyl 3 (i think) 4% down on relative compression and an almost continuous missfire. He checks coils but no issues there, so I say hey lets check the plug. Pull it out and the insulator was completely broked, and had fallen down around the electrode covering it.

Replace plug and a reflash and no more idle or miss. Some power restored but nothing like when I got it.

BUT, sure if my old IC had a small leak or something but the IC and newest flash seem to have restored my truck to the power levels it had when I first got it, back to when I mat it. Maybe the cyl was a little washed and came back.. who knows.

Just picked mine up too. We'll see how it is on the drive home tonight.

First update with the latest TSB. On my drive home Friday, I come a long steady grade that has made my truck shudder ( slight not violent) for the last 30000+ kms. No shudder now. The truck feels different. Haven't driven enough to nail down exactly what's different yet though.
