2011+ 55-60mph 5.0 Shuddering and EcoBoost Engine Miss/Loss of Power - Possible Fixes
#2361
I am thinking about calling. My truck has been in the shop for 3 weeks yesterday and the customer service person at Ford said yesterday she was tryingto get my parts to the dealer late next week. That's a month sooner than my service advisor thought. It frustrates me that this is the 3rd time my truck has been in and we are not 100% convinced this is going to fix it. Add the safety concerns, potential increased depreciationof the ecoboost motors if they don’t get it resolved not to mention my mileage has never lived up to the window sticker claims. On the other hand the dealer has been fairly good to me. They gave me a new F150 5.0 to drive. Some members are still driving their trucks with the check engine light on waiting for parts.
I do find it hard to believe this didn’t come out in their preproduction tests. Not sure when you guys first started having the issues with your trucks, but this thread was started 5 months BEFORE I bought my truck. My guess is the only one that is going to get paid on the class action suit is the attorneys, but what would it hurt to have my case included? Doubt Ford is going to black list me and deny my future warrantee work because my name was on the list.
I am interested to hear the rest of your thoughts and if you’re going to join. I assume it does not costanything to join?
On a side note. I had been lurking here for a few months before joining a few weeks ago and am really enjoying the site. I am a member of a few gun sites, but the tension on them is getting to people. It’srefreshing to read threads without constant petty arguments or rude comments taking up half the thread.
Sorry for the long post!

I threw my name in the hat via email. It said it was open to FORMER owners too and I am one of those. Ford basically told me "eff you" so this is my way of saying "eff you" back. I don't even care if I get anything out of the class action suit or not. All my ex ecoboost is to me is a bad memory and a file folder full of paperwork.

Well after waiting since mid November I finally got a call from the dealer saying my intercooler is in. She told me they got 3 in today. And they say they have never heard of the problem before..... Interesting that they show up a couple days after we all hear about the class action. Could be coincidence LOL.

Just don't understand
Riccochet, why did you buy another Eco after the 2011 Ecoboost was returned under the lemon law? I am at a loss to understand why anyone would even look at another ecoboost after what you went through.
