Default 2012 Ford f150 fx4 ecoboost3.5l (shudder fix)

I too experienced the "shuddering issues" mainly during high humidity or rainy days , with CEL and not, second time to dealer . The FORD fix is a new inter cooler and some type of plate that attaches to the intercooler. Parts are on national back order.I tried the fix of software update the first visit , but if course did not work. FORD says intercooler builds moisture in intercooler during normal driving(in high humid or rainy areas)and then pulled into intake during heavy acceleration. The inlet and outlet of original intercooler is supposedly to low in design of intercooler , so new design of intercooler. Waiting patiently for parts!

Don't mean to ask a stupid question but does the new cac tsb fix the 50-60 shutter or misfire going up a hill.

No sir, not on mine. It's not as bad but it's not gone. It lessened the likelihood of the limp mode issue and the engine doesn't feel to be as powerful as it was before. I have two other folks that I know well that also have the new cac's and they have tuners. They've both told me that when they got the tuners the trucks were perfect from then on. That's what I'm hoping happens to mine

Did the tuners fix it before the new CAC?

No sir. They had the same sort of problems that I did and didn't want to make changes like that not knowing what path would be taken with the trucks. Same for me. I've wanted a tuner and the other goodies but didn't want to give ford an excuse not to fix my truck.

So, new CAC, a tuner and the problem is gone??? Sounds good to me!

Time will tell. We all bought our trucks back in the early part of the year and started having trouble in the spring rains and hot summer humidity. It's been wet down here some, but not warm and humid like when we experienced the issues.

I can't speak to the issues that any of you guys have had, but it seems to have fixed the worst of mine. What tuners do you guys have now? I drive a lot of miles so the 87 tunes are most appealing for fuel costs.

Has your mileage increased with the tune?

Have you checked your spark plug gap? Reducing it to .30 or .32 seems to resolve the slight highway shudder for some. Others are replacing the plugs too. See the threads on plug gap if you haven't already - it might help.

As I had said, I haven't bought a tuner yet. That's what I'm trying to decide on. I like what I've read about the 5 star but I don't know anyone that has one.

After the last tsb though, my average is sitting at 17.8.
