2011+ 55-60mph 5.0 Shuddering and EcoBoost Engine Miss/Loss of Power - Possible Fixes
#2071
Haulin Bass!
Just thought yall should know, but I went to a Chevy dealer to trade my truck in. The trade in quote I got was considerably lower than fair market value due to the issues with the Ecoboost. They had 3 on their lot, all with issues, none that Ford can fix.
So, fair warning. Other dealers know of these issues and we're going to get skunked because of it.

It was only a matter of time before word got out to the dealer community. Now that it has, we'll all either just have to live with what we got and drive 'em into the ground or be prepared to take a huge hit on trade.
Even if ol' voice of reason says it's a small percentage of them that have a problem, ALL of them (100%) will be labled as a poor risk by all the dealers, even Ford dealers!

An FYI... My dealer said they'd take care of me on the trade if I will give them and ford another chance. I'm not sure I want another ford until I've had time to watch and see if they've fixed the problem with the new ones. It'll be interesting to see what they offer

Yep! I posted a similar warning back in June after a (Ford) dealer told me I'd better get rid of it before word got out and I did. I called the dealer I originally bought it from and he offered me $3K less than I paid a year prior and I couldn't make the 2 hour drive to his lot fast enough! He ran an Oasis and said "well, you have had some problems haven't you?" LOL I think I was extremely lucky to come out as good as I did. Meanwhile I've had zero problems with my new Ram and I hope it stays that way.

I would say that a problem that can't be fixed would be concerning and I seemed to have had 2 with my F 150 .. the shudder/miss and the alignment. I had it aligned twice in the 13K miles I drove it and it still wore out a set of tires unevenly at 13K miles. I have to admit that after they pulled and repaired my tranny and replaced my steering rack I didn't have anymore problems from those things
I was a die hard Ford guy all my life and I'm pretty old and owned a bunch of them. But when you buy a $43K truck with problems and the Manf customer service guy basically tells you to pizz off it tends to leave a bad taste in your mouth. If or when my Ram gives me problems that can't be fixed I'll give a Tundra a try
