Mine is still doing the misfire everyday the temp is mid 50's or less. I have noticed however...at least in these temps...that it no longer does it in the 55-60 mph range. Its more in the 30-50 mph range. Has anyove else noticed a shift in where it happens after having previous TSB's applied?

Its either it shifted or...I'm not noticing it because of the temp. Last winter is when I first noticed the issue with temps from -20 to 20. It obviously hasn't been that cold yet, so I'm interested to see if it shows up at 55-60 mph again when it gets that cold again, or if the "fixes" have changed where it happens in the powerband.

Good grief! I feel bad for you! I suspected mine too would turn into a fiasco like that so after a year, 13.5K miles, over 5 weeks in the shop for various crap, Ford's "we don't care" attitude, I called the dealer I bought the truck from and they offered me $3K less than what I paid for it .. SOLD!!! Of course I also lost the sales tax I paid. All in all I guess I came out pretty good financially but the best part was I stopped the bleeding and ended the pain in a matter of hours.

Yeah, you did pretty good. Ford told the lemon law lawyer NO, not no with explanation why, just NO and then effectively just dared him to sue them.

So, today I drove back up to Iowa and got $8K less for mine but I'm glad it's gone. Could have gotten more selling it but I could not in good faith or conscience sell a vehicle to someone else that I know can get you killed and is not getting anywhere near the mpgs it did when I got it. Couldn't even go trade it in elsewhere knowing that.

At least this way, it's up to my original dealer what they do. I suspect it will be on there lot for sale Monday morning but I told them I would not lie to anyone that wanted to call the previous owner about why I got rid of it with so few miles so maybe they will at least try to get it fixed.

Best of luck to you all trying to get this crap fixed. Easily the most frustrating buying experience of my life. Not because crap happens, stuff breaks, and new models are more susceptible but just because of Ford's completely cavalier attitude toward every single problem I've had. In every case it's been "normal", "no fault found", or "we're eternally working on a fix".

Your dealership gave you a very fair option. I would have taken that in a heartbeat.

The bleeding continues as I am now recieving invoices for both trucks and the warranty is still attached to my 2011 which has been parked at the dealership for 4 weeks....

Just google ecoboost condensation, it is going viral.

Ford has to make a management decision on how exactly they intend to address this major and critical problem before serious and permanent damage to the Ford brand. The longer they wait the more damage they will suffer. Dealers are already screaming because they are losing sales because of this issue, the last two months has shown that. Only when the assembly lines start to slow more in regard to the competition will it become a serious issue to them. Ford’s policy of turning its back on hundreds or thousands of customers is a very bad policy and only Ford can change that. The NHTSA will not change that; some State Attorney General’s might try by stopping sales in certain states, but that is a very long lengthy process.

It is true some (an ultra tiny percentage) dealers are working aggressively to get their customers “out” of the ecoboost; but most dealers Do Not!

I stopped by a lot the other day to take some pics of some 2013's for the forum. There was a guy looking at trucks there and asked me about mine because he saw the EcoBoost emblem on the door. We had a nice long conversation to say the least. I pointed him to the forums here as well. Needless to say he will NOT be buying an EcoBoost and I doubt a Ford at all.

Wake up Ford. You have a pretty loyal fan base, but its going to bite you in the *** sooner or later. You really hyped up this power plant with all the fancy commercials and torture testing, and this thing can not even live up to every day driving.

Social media is going to be the death of you.

Anyway, here is a run down of what happened this weekend and after my visit to the dealer this morning. Saturday night on my way to pickup my daughters friend I had to accelerate onto the highway and I had very pronounced missfires when hard accelerating, this cleared up quickly. Now last night was a different story, I went outside to move my truck as we had a lot of company and upon starting the truck it ran very rough and wouldn't respond well to me revving the engine to try and clear it up. This lasted for approx. 30 seconds.

So I took it to the dealer this morning and talked with the tech in detail. I told him what had happened and that I am still having an issue with shuddering at 55-60mph on slight inclines in 6th gear and I see a lot of soot in the condensation that drips onto my driveway and noticed a decrease in mpg. He said "Oh? Well let me take a look at Mode 6 which will let me see any misfires".

After about 30 minutes I proceeded to go to the shop and speak with him and he said he sees quite a few misfires on all cylinders but the following are the worst; 1,2,5 & 7. He stated (he showed me the recording) that 3 & 5 are the worst under load but cylinder #1 is the worst when idling followed by #2. He says he felt as though the reflashes I had in the past didn't clear up the "Misfire Neutral Profile" (This works with the "VCT" (Variable Camshaft Timing)) that is stored but had to contact the "Tech HotLine" to see what they wanted him to do.

Tech hotline told him to clear out the profile and do the relearn and road test the vehicle. I watched him do the relearn and then watched the recorder and no more misfires! He then proceeded to test drive the truck and when returning he said (again he showed me the recorder) that the truck was no longer misfiring.

I left the dealer and proceeded to take the long way home and verify his results and I could not get it to shudder, I tried 50, 55, 60 & 65mph up inclines in 6th gear both in and out of cruise control and was amazed.

I'm not saying this is everyones resolve but based on what has been discussed the misfire maybe the issue at hand....

Filing a complaint:
Ford Customer Care: 1-866-631-3788
NHTSA: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration

Some owners have reported that re-gapping or changing the spark plugs have either minimized or eliminated the shuddering issue:
Re-Gap Spark Plugs to: .032
NGK Part# LTR6IX-11

Removing Spark Plugs:
1. Remove oil cap, pull off engine cover, pull off foam insulator. Reinstall oil cap.
2. Disconnect coilpack connectors (slide red locking tab out first, then depress center clip)
3. Disconnect valve electrical connector (under foam, driver side)
4. Disconnect vacuum swing arm (turn plastic compression spring sleeve then pull up,driver side.)

You can now access each coil pack and spark plug.

Note: Apologies for not quoting the members posting possible solutions since there are too many threads and comments about this issue.

Out of curiosity, anyone with the 55-60 miss-fire issue have a BullyDog Ecotuner? If so does it change the characteristic?
Thanks
