A friend of mine has the 5.0 and thought he had the same miss/shudder as my ecoboost. That is, until I took him for a ride. Once he felt my truck he said "OMG, and I thought my truck was bad" ... I rode in his truck and his truck does feel like a driveline vibe type shudder but he said that has already been ruled out, as well as tires, etc. I would be more than happy trading my ecoboost problems for his 5.0 shudder. HOwever both trucks *should* be problem free from the factory. FORD has dropped the ball big time on these trucks yet they continue to market them via their commercials like they are the golden egg. makes me sick to my stomach.

I did have a bed vibration going on usually between 35-45 mph.... that was with the stock Pirelli ATRs. Upgraded my tires to Michelin LTX AT2's for towing and offroading... haven't seen or heard from the bed vibration since. I also noticed while hauling my 3200lb boat that with the stock Pirelli's the rear end would bob up and down significantly anytime I hit a bump in the road. After switching tires, this problem is gone as well.

The rear shocks in these trucks are crap as well, will be changing them out with Bilstein HDs.

You know what I had problems with since 2,760 miles on my 2011 F150 before I lemoned it? The transmission. It's a piece of crap. And the torque converter locks and unlocks under light load causing the shudder everyone feels.

There is a fix coming. It's the 2014 F150 with the new 7 speed they've designed.
The best fix will be competition. Ford, any company, will become extremely focused on fixing issues when some of the other manufacturers start releasing their gas engines that will rival the torque, mpg, and towing capacity. When that happens, I hope that all of us with these lemons remind ourselves of right now and how ford is treating us. I will also promise you that ford will become much nicer in regards to customer care

Its been awhile since I checked in here. I am sorry to see there has been no fix yet for you all experiencing this. I got rid of my truck and its problems. It will be awhile before I try another Ford product. I hope they find something soon and take care of you all.

I do have some Weathertech floor liners if anyone is interested. I will try and get them listed in the classifieds later tonight.

Can someone tell me where to log an official complaint with Ford. Mine is a 2011 F150 Ecoboost and has done the mis-fire since new. 55 mph+ with torque converter locked, mild acceleration. Has been in for this three times. Dealer does acknowledge the problem and says Ford is working on it.
I just want to go on record with them.
Thanks

There is an 800 number in the manual for customer service but I don't know it off hand. That's who you call.

I have it on speed dial, 1-866-631-3788. Start a spreadsheet or buy a thick legal pad. DOCUMENT EVERY CALL, EVERY NAME, DATE AND TIME.
I had over 100 "touches" with Ford by the time all was said and done. Touches being trips to the dealer, phone calls, emails, document submittals etc. It is a PAIN IN THE BUT. It becomes a daily, part time job that you will have to keep up with.
DOCUMENT EVERYTHING!

I worked with Ford for 11 months jumping through all of their hoops including 4 trips to the dealer to apply, "the new fix" followed by several other trips, one being a failed transmission with burnt fluid (They rebuilt it). Then a ride with the service manager and a Ford engineer. It took 3 months after the engineer OK'd the buyback to drive away in my "replacement". After paying $4700.00 in "buyer participation" fees (21,000 miles on truck but documented issue was realized and first "fix" applied at 2000 miles). I finally dropped off my 2011 ecoboost and happily drove away in my 2012 F150 5.0. Minimal shuddering at best. I say minimal because after 11 months of shuddering in my ecoboost, I am so keyed in on the vibration, I may be mistaking typical road feedback as "shuddering" on occasion.

Explore Lemon law but don't ever mention to your Ford caseworker that you are contacting your lawyer. I lost my cool after about 7 months of "we are working on a fix" and said the next phone call would be from my lawyer. I had a change of heart and called them back a few months later; they opened a new case and all of the depreciation that would have been omitted was put back on the board. "My loss of control cost me $4700 in mileage depreciation."

Good luck. I'm still working on moving my extended warranty and another road hazard (door ding, windshield, tire damage package) over to my new truck. Im also still paying for both trucks! They are screwed up over there. I am curious to see how this would have gone had I contacted a lemon law lawyer in November...

What is this bed vibration you're talking about? My bed is solidly attached and if the bed is vibrating so is the rest of the truck. Anyone else have their bed vibrating? I don't need one more thing to start watching for!

Nice thought but, I think you're dreaming! Ford simply doesn't give a damn, they rely on advertising to sell trucks and just like politicians, the truth matters very little. Good advertising matters a lot! Unless it's big deal, like the Pinto blowing up from a rear collision or something of that magnitude, they won't even bat an eye.

They don't care, you're right. But... Their driving factor, as with anyone in corporate America, is the almighty dollar and growth in sales year over year. Stiffer competition and engines that will rival the ecoboost labeled performance will hurt both of those. Because of that, ford will have to work on handling customers and trying to incentivize them to buy another ford and not something from a competitor.
